Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mugen Masters (“Mugen Masters”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Mugen Masters Android game, website and related services. For the personal data we decide how and why to process, Mugen Masters is the data controller.

Information we process

The information used depends on the features you choose:

• Account and identity information: your email address, Google sign-in information, Firebase user ID, authentication provider and account status.
• Player profile and public game information: player name, avatar, class, titles, level, power, clan membership, PvP rank and other information shown to players through leaderboards, clans, matchmaking or public profiles.
• Gameplay and economy information: progression, stats, currencies, inventory, equipment, pets, eggs, cosmetics, rewards, quests, dungeons, battles, farming, fishing, cooking, clans, PvP, events, settings and anti-abuse state.
• Fitness and workout information: workout entries, exercises, weights, repetitions, personal bests, cardio results, distances, durations, activity progress, reward calculations and step totals that you choose to read from Health Connect.
• Location information: while an Outdoor Run is active, the game processes precise location points on your device to draw the route, calculate movement and find nearby gameplay events. Tracking may continue while the app is backgrounded, with a persistent Android notification. The route points are saved locally only so an interrupted active route can be restored. Map-cell identifiers derived from location, territory claims and run totals may be sent to our servers for world ownership, encounters, rewards and anti-cheat checks.
• Camera verification: if you choose treadmill camera verification, Google ML Kit reads text from the image on your device. The verification image is not uploaded to Mugen Masters servers. You can instead enter results manually where that option is offered, although rewards may differ.
• Community information: player, clan and pet names; clan tags; preset quick-chat selections; clan actions; reports concerning public names or profiles; and moderation decisions. Mugen Masters does not currently provide free-text player chat.
• Purchases, ads and rewards: Google Play purchase tokens and status, product and transaction information, rewarded-ad session and reward status, consent choices, advertising identifiers and fraud-prevention signals. Payment card details are handled by Google Play and are not provided to us.
• Notifications: notification preferences and Firebase Cloud Messaging registration tokens.
• Technical, analytics and security information: app-instance and device identifiers, device model, operating system, app version, language, approximate region, network and performance information, feature and screen events, crash reports, diagnostic logs, App Check/Play Integrity results, and security or abuse events.
• Support information: the information you include when contacting support or submitting an issue report.
• Website information: standard connection, security and aggregate website usage information processed by our hosting and performance providers, including Cloudflare.

How and why we use information

We use information to provide and secure accounts; save and restore progress; calculate game outcomes and rewards; operate clans, matchmaking, leaderboards and public profiles; process purchases and rewarded ads; provide optional fitness, camera, map and notification features; prevent cheating, fraud and abuse; respond to support requests; diagnose crashes and performance problems; and understand and improve the game.

Where applicable, our legal bases are:

• Contract: to provide the game, account, purchases and online services you request under our Terms of Service.
• Consent: where Android, Health Connect or advertising rules ask for permission or consent, including optional step, camera, location, notification and personalised-ad processing. You can withdraw permission in the game, your device settings, Health Connect or the advertising privacy options, as applicable.
• Legitimate interests: to secure the service, prevent fraud and cheating, maintain game balance, diagnose faults, improve performance and understand aggregate use, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligations: where we must keep or disclose information to comply with law, handle disputes, refunds or chargebacks, or respond to a valid legal request.

Service providers and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We use providers that process information for the purposes described above:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, Firestore cloud data, Cloud Functions, App Check, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring and Remote Config.
• Google Play and Google services: Google sign-in, Play Billing, AdMob rewarded ads, User Messaging Platform consent, Play Integrity, Health Connect, location services and on-device ML Kit text recognition.
• Mapbox: map tiles and outdoor map functionality.
• Cloudflare and website providers: website hosting, delivery, security and aggregate web analytics.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect players or the service, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce our Terms, or complete a business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards.

Public information

Your player name and selected public profile details can be visible to other players through clans, leaderboards, PvP, matchmaking and related game screens. Do not use your real name or include personal contact information in a player, clan or pet name.

Storage, retention and deletion

Account and gameplay information is generally kept while your account remains active. Local route points are kept on your device only for the active Outdoor Run and its recovery state, then cleared when that state is cleared. Camera verification frames are processed on-device and are not uploaded to our servers.

You can permanently delete your account from Menu → Account → Delete Account, or request deletion through our Data Deletion page. Deletion removes the authentication account and associated active player data. A deletion audit record is retained for up to 30 days. Certain purchase, rewarded-ad and security records may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary for refunds, chargebacks, fraud prevention, abuse investigations or legal obligations. In those retained records, the active user ID and obvious profile and device fields are removed and replaced with a separate deletion identifier.

Backup, provider and diagnostic systems may take a limited additional period to expire information under their normal retention cycles. We keep other information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose described, then delete or anonymise it.

International processing

Our providers may process information in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data; receive a portable copy; and withdraw consent. You can manage notification, location, camera and Health Connect permissions through the game or Android settings, and advertising choices through the game’s Privacy Options when available.

To exercise a data right, email support@mugenmasters.com. We may need to verify that you control the relevant account. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Mugen Masters is not directed to children under 13. If you are below the age at which you can consent to online services in your country, a parent or guardian must review and permit your use. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards including authenticated access, server-side validation, Firebase security rules, App Check/Play Integrity, transport encryption, restricted database access and anti-abuse monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy when the game, providers or legal requirements change. We will change the date above and provide additional notice in the game where a change materially affects your rights or choices.
